The Food Bank event was an incredible success! Every single attendee was new to this year’s event — with a few even attending their very first Chapter event — and the energy was fantastic from start to finish. The group split into two teams: one assembling dry goods hampers and the other sorting fresh produce. Both teams were productive and engaged, with plenty of connection and conversation happening alongside the work.

The impact was impressive. The dry goods team processed over 1,700 lbs of food and assembled approximately 125 hampers for families, while the produce team sorted more than 844 lbs of fresh produce (not including spoiled items removed). Food Bank staff were highly complementary of the volunteers and the volume of work completed. Even better, there was 100% attendance from those who registered.

Beyond the numbers, the event fostered meaningful connections and a strong sense of contribution to the Kamloops community. It was a rewarding, easy-to-organize initiative that left everyone feeling accomplished and engaged. A true win for the Chapter and a wonderful example of teamwork and community impact in action!
