Event Recap: Vancouver Island Métis Rendezvous 2026

metis-rendevous-2026The Vancouver Island Métis Rendezvous 2026 brought together approximately 1,300 Métis citizens, community leaders, and partners for a full day of family-oriented cultural celebration, connection, and engagement. Hosted at the Cowichan Lake Exhibition Grounds, the event brought together attendees for a day of cultural performances, traditional activities, local artisan displays, and community learning opportunities.

CPABC participated as an exhibitor, sharing resources on financial literacy, career pathways in accounting, and community programming. Throughout the day, CPABC engaged with Métis citizens and community leaders, discussing financial wellness, education opportunities, and ways to support capacity building within Métis communities across British Columbia.

The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with leadership representatives from several Chartered Communities and Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) stakeholders. These conversations resulted in planned follow-ups outside of the event to explore financial literacy opportunities for Chartered Communities and other interested MNBC stakeholders, strengthening relationships and supporting ongoing community learning.
