Event Recap: Indigenous Member Forum 2026

On June 9, 2026, CPABC hosted its Indigenous Member Forum, bringing together Indigenous members, students, and allies for an engaging and collaborative virtual discussion.
The forum offered participants an overview of ongoing efforts within CPABC’s Indigenous Engagement strategy. Attendees were invited to share perspectives and contribute ideas to help shape future programming and priorities.
Forum Highlights
- Defining Allyship and Building Community
- A key discussion focused on defining allyship and identifying effective ways to engage allies within the CPA community. Participants explored what meaningful allyship looks like in practice and how to foster inclusive participation in future forums.
- Professional Development Course Update
- An update was shared on the development of an upcoming professional development course centered on the unique context of Indigenous communities in British Columbia.
- Financial Literacy Program Impact
- Attendees learned about CPABC’s Financial Literacy Program and its continued efforts to support Indigenous communities and individuals. Highlights included recent accomplishments and the program’s role in increasing access to financial knowledge and resources.
- Community Events: CPABC will be sponsoring and participating in these upcoming events:
- Squamish Nation Youth Powwow (July 11–13, 2026)
- Vancouver Island Métis Rendezvous (August 15, 2026)
- Members are encouraged to attend and visit the CPABC booth to connect with the team.
