CPABC attended the 32nd Annual CANDO National Conference & AGM, hosted by the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO). The annual conference brings together Indigenous economic development officers, community leaders, government representatives, businesses, and organizations from across Canada to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and advance Indigenous economic development.
CPABC staff participated as exhibitors, engaging with attendees and sharing information about community programming, financial literacy initiatives, and pathways to the CPA designation. The event provided valuable opportunities to connect with Indigenous communities and economic development professionals, learn about emerging priorities and challenges, and explore ways the accounting profession can support capacity building and economic prosperity in Indigenous communities.
The conference theme, "Strengthening Nations Through Economic Sovereignty", highlighted the importance of Indigenous-led economic development, self-determination, and sustainable growth for Indigenous nations.
