From October 26-30, Indigenous young adults from across the country gathered in downtown Vancouver for the 4th Annual Indigenous Young Adult Entrepreneur Summit & Job Fair, presented by Bears' Lair Dream Camps in partnership with AFOABC. The event provided participants aged 18 to 35 with opportunities to explore entrepreneurship, strengthen leadership skills, and build meaningful connections with mentors, employers, and fellow aspiring entrepreneurs.
CPABC’s Indigenous Engagement and Student Recruitment teams supported the participants at the summit throughout the week, which featured workshops, networking sessions, mentorship opportunities, and team-based business challenges. Participants worked collaboratively to develop business ideas and gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, career development, and economic self-determination.
The week opened with cultural teachings from Elder Bob Baker and concluded with a team pitch competition, where participants presented their ideas for a chance to win a $10,000 prize to help bring their ventures to life.
The summit highlighted the growing momentum of Indigenous entrepreneurship and the importance of creating opportunities for Indigenous youth and young adults to learn, connect, and lead.
