5th Annual Stalew Pow Wow

CPABC's Indigenous Engagement team attended the 5th annual stɑl̓əw̓ Pow Wow at the Langley Events Centre. Hosted by the Indigenous women-led stɑl̓əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society on Kwantlen First Nation territory, the event brought together thousands of attendees, including Indigenous communities and allies from across the region to celebrate culture, community, and connection.

Highlights included Grand Entries featuring more than 500 dancers, participation from Kwantlen, Katzie, Matsqui, and Semiahmoo First Nations, and a vibrant marketplace showcasing Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs. The gathering provided an important opportunity to strengthen relationships, celebrate Indigenous traditions, and support Indigenous economic and cultural development. CPABC was honoured to be part of this welcoming and inspiring community event.

As one of the largest Indigenous cultural gatherings in the Lower Mainland, the stɑl̓əw̓ Pow Wow continues to create meaningful opportunities for cultural revitalization, community connection, learning, and reconciliation. We are grateful to the organizers, volunteers, participants, and host Nations for their generosity and for creating a welcoming space where Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions can be celebrated and shared.
