CPABC hosted the Indigenous Pathways in Business event at the UBC Sauder School of Business, bringing together Indigenous UBC students interested in careers in accounting and pursuing the CPA designation. The event was introduced by Elsa Doxtdator-Jansson from UBC Sauder, and featured a panel of CPA members and candidates who shared their career journeys, challenges, and successes in the accounting profession. Moderated by Kali Stierle, the panel featured insights from Patricia Sayer, CPA, Kostan Levirs, and Erikka Ogrodnick, CPA.

The panelists provided valuable perspectives on the role of mentorship, community support, and education in shaping their careers. They highlighted the opportunities available through the CPA designation and how it can open doors to leadership and economic empowerment. Students had the opportunity to engage with the speakers, ask questions, and gain inspiration for their own professional paths.

Our next event will be held at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops on Friday March 28, 2025.
