Victoria/Southern Vancouver Island - Lunar New Year - Year of the Snake! Event Recap

On Feb 20, over 200 guests gathered to welcome the year of the snake with an unforgettable evening of culture, community, and generosity. Held at Don Mee Seafood Restaurant, the event featured a traditional Chinese banquet, lively speakers, and a successful silent auction in support of the Camosun CPA Award in Accounting.
A key highlight of the evening was the silent auction, which brought together a diverse array of donated items and experiences, from AirTags to workout classes. Thanks to the generosity of donors and participants, the auction raised $2,995 to help future accounting students achieve their educational goals.
Peter Guo, Chair of the CPABC Board of Directors, gave a captivating speech to the audience. He shared insights into the accounting profession, the importance of community support, and the impact of initiatives like the Camosun CPA Award in fostering the next generation of financial professionals.
The Lunar New Year Dinner not only celebrated the beginning of a prosperous year but also reinforced the importance of community support for education and professional development. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for making this event a resounding success. The Victoria/Southern Vancouver Island Chapter looks forward to welcoming everyone again next year for another memorable celebration!
