On Thursday, August 29th, over 120 golfers—CPAs and their guests—gathered under perfect golf conditions at the beautiful Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club for an unforgettable day of sport, networking, and fun. With sunny skies and a gentle breeze, it was a picture-perfect day for our 63rd Annual Golf Tournament!

Participants faced 18 challenging holes, starting with a thrilling shotgun start. Golfers fueled up with a delicious sandwich lunch to power through their drives, while those who joined later for the evening festivities enjoyed a delicious banquet dinner. With two exciting formats to choose from - 'Play Your Own Ball' for the more seasoned golfers and 'Scramble Team Play' for the novices—there was a style of play for everyone.

The day culminated in a grand trophy presentation that celebrated excellence on the greens. Our winners included:

  • Men’s Low Gross – Gary Wozny, CPA, CA
  • Ladies’ Low Gross – Connie Hang, CPA, CGA
  • Team Low Gross – Andre Lemieux, CPA, CA, Peter Lewis, CPA, CA, Ben Moxon, CPA, CA and Gary Wozny, CPA, CA
  • Team Low Scramble – Kern Chiu, CPA, CMA, Brian Darrah, Eric Halpenny and Marcus Schalle

But the excitement didn't end there! Additional recognition went to those who triumphed in the longest drives and closest-to-the-pin challenges:

  • Men’s Longest Drive – William Banasch, CPA
  • Ladies’ Longest Drive – Stella Hew
  • Men’s Closest to the Pin – Remco Bosdel
  • Ladies’ Closest to the Pin – Sheffield Yeung

These winners walked away with fantastic raffle prizes to commemorate their achievements. But everyone in attendance was a winner - every golfer, whether they placed in the tournament or not, had the chance to take home a prize from the impressive prize table.

A special and very big THANK YOU goes to Ben Moxon, CPA, CA, who has been a key organizer of the tournament’s organization since 1989 - this marking his 35th year!
