On December 6, 2025, The CPABC SLND Chapter's held a learning event on Leading Yourself and Others: Tools and Techniques to Transform Performance. That was a morning filled with energy, connection, and meaningful learning. Held at the beautiful Westfield Country Club, the warm western-style breakfast set a welcoming tone as more than 70 attendees gathered, creating an atmosphere that was lively, collaborative, and highly engaged from the very start.
Throughout the session, the room buzzed with conversation and curiosity. Attendees actively participated in group discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and exchanged personal experiences—all contributing to a dynamic learning environment.
A key highlight was the leadership style assessment. Participants not only discovered their own leadership tendencies but also witnessed each style come to life through short speeches delivered by representatives of each type. This created moments of recognition, laughter, and insight, helping attendees better understand how different leaders think, communicate, and contribute.
The seminar also explored generational characteristics—from Boomers to Gen Alpha—using clear summaries and vivid real-life examples, especially around engaging and motivating Gen Z and Alpha. These discussions sparked practical takeaways and new perspectives that participants expressed excitement about applying in their workplaces.
The session concluded on a high note with a fun and competitive Family Feud game, reinforcing the day’s key concepts and leaving the room energized and smiling.
In addition, the event also had a lucky winner from the draw picked by the guest speaker - $475 PD certificate. As our routine, the SLND Chapter leader provided the Chapter upcoming events and available volunteer positions as well as a reminder for completing the event survey.
Overall, the event not only delivered valuable tools and techniques for leading oneself and others but also fostered a sense of community, reflection, and renewed motivation among attendees. The SLND Chapter extends thanks to everyone who joined and helped create such a positive and impactful atmosphere.
