Surrey/Langley/North Delta Chapter - Coldest Night of the Year Walk Event Recap
Over 600 walkers from 79 teams participated in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk in the Surrey Cloverdale location, collectively raising a staggering $232,000! This amount, the second-highest raised among 190 locations across Canada, is a testament to Cloverdale's incredible generosity and community spirit. We are immensely proud to be part of this community that has made such a significant impact through their contributions.
CNOY is an annual family-friendly event to raise money by walking either 2km or 5km to support local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. This year, the CPABC Surrey/Langley/North Delta (SLND) Chapter joined their Surrey Cloverdale location, hosted by Cloverdale Community Kitchen. Cloverdale Community Kitchen is a not-for-profit organization that offers meals to the homeless and provides emergency weather shelter and clothes to those in need.
The SLND Chapter was represented by 14 individuals, including CPA members, friends, and family, and the team raised $1,370 with 20 sponsors! Walkers were rewarded with hot chocolate and snacks at rest stops. The event lived up to its name as the Coldest Night of the Year, as the team enjoyed walking in the drizzling rain throughout the evening. At the end of the walk, everyone was rewarded with a light dinner by the Cloverdale Community Kitchen.
Overall fun was had by all, while making an impact in our local community. We hope you join us next year to make an even bigger difference!
