he CPA Education Foundation of BC (CPAEF) has announced the recipients of the CPAEF David Sale FCPA FCGA Memorial Bursary.  Eight accounting students will receive bursaries totalling $5,000. These students attend the following BC colleges and universities: Kwantlen Polytechnic University (4), Coast Mountain College, North Island College, Thompson Rivers University, and Trinity Western University.

The bursary award was created in 2018in memory of David Sale who was a long time academic at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. David was also an active member of the profession having served in numerous volunteers roles including board chair of the legacy CGA-BC Association, Co-chair of the CPABC Joint Venture, and was a trustee of the CPABC Benevolent Fund at the time of his unexpected passing in September 2017.

Brenda Waechter FCPA FCGA, board chair of the CPAEF, said, “The bursary program was established to provide financial support to accounting students attending a B.C. post-secondary institution. She added, "the bursary program supports the advancement of education and also David's legacy of broad accessibility to knowledge."
