On June 24, 2015, the Chartered Professional Accountants Act came into force, officially unifying the three professional accounting bodies in B.C. to establish the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC), one of the largest professional organizations in the province.

CPABC protects the public interest through rigorous educational and certification programs to uphold the highest professional standards and ethics. It represents over 40,000 CPA members and 6,000 CPA candidates.

The role of CPABC’s Board of Directors is to govern the CPA profession in B.C. and develop policy supporting CPABC’s mandate of professional education, regulation, member service, and protection of the public interest.
