Magical Origami Variety Show Event Recap
The CPABC Richmond/South Delta Chapter hosted a virtual holiday variety show on December 12, 2020.
Over 50 members attended this online event which included an origami workshop led by the highly talented Kat McDowell zooming in live from Los Angeles. Kat showed the audience how to fold paper Christmas trees, decorative balls and hearts. And, she shared her rendition of three perennial holiday songs.
Kat was followed by the amazing Michael Bourada performing his virtual magic show. Michael dazzled the audience with his COVID-safe illusions. It’s no wonder why he has appeared on the Penn & Teller: Fool Us! Show. Both Michael and Kat can be spotted on YouTube if you want to see more of them.

The event also featured an UGLY Sweater contest. Many attendees competed in this event. And, though it was extremely difficult to select the UGLIEST sweater (as so many fit this description!), several were eventually found. The winners of this contest were: Christine, E.Liu, and Theresa. Congratulations!

The Chapter plans to host more social networking events in an online mode until it is safe to hold in-person events again (likely late summer 2021). If you have any ideas for future events, you can email the chapter with your suggestions.
Until then, enjoy the holiday season and have a great New Year!
