Spotlight on Ambassadors of the Year

2025

Q&A with Aseem Ghadiali, CPA

  • AseemMember Ambassador of the Year 2025 - Aseem Ghadiali

Why did you want to become a Member Ambassador?

I wanted to become a Member Ambassador because I genuinely enjoy meeting young people and sharing my own personal and professional journey with them. This role gives me the chance to connect with students and young entrepreneurs across Greater Vancouver – whether speaking at high schools or supporting them as a judge in the Annual CPABC Case Competition at UBC. I love helping others discover their path and get excited about their future careers.

What have you gained from your Member Ambassador experience?

Being a Member Ambassador has given me a true sense of belonging to the wonderful CPA community. Sharing my story has been rewarding, but I’ve also learned so much and been inspired by the journeys of others. It’s helped me grow my confidence in public speaking and allowed me to build meaningful connections with people both inside and outside the profession. Most of all, it’s deepened my appreciation for the talent and drive of the next generation.

Outside of your work and being a CPABC Ambassador, what are you passionate about?

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors – whether hiking, kayaking, or skiing. My beautiful wife and our two young daughters are my greatest joy, and these days, I especially treasure hiking adventures with them. Being in nature with my family helps me relax, recharge, and stay connected to what matters most.

Q&A with Cameron Mann

  • CameronCandidate Ambassador of the Year 2025 - Cameron Mann

Why did you want to become a Candidate Ambassador?

I became a Candidate Ambassador after participating in the CPA Path to Success Event and talking with prospective candidates. It was during that event that I was able to share my experiences of going through the program and what I found useful. I also wanted to educate students about the evolving nature of the profession and the multiple pathways to becoming a CPA, other than in audit and tax. I also enjoy volunteering, and this was a great way to give back to prospective candidates in the program.

What have you gained from your Candidate Ambassador experience?

I’ve gotten a better understanding of the services that CPABC provides to all its members and gotten to connect with the organization and its people better. I’ve also been able to start changing the perspective of the profession from number crunchers to business advisors to those I speak with, which I hope to continue to do.

Outside of your work and being a CPABC Ambassador, what are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about volunteering, I volunteered a great deal during my university days and one of my long-term goals is to sit on the board of directors of a non-profit so I can give back in a greater capacity.

Q&A with Julian Ang

Julian

  • Campus Ambassador of the Year 2025 - Julian Ang

Why did you want to become a Campus Ambassador?

I love helping people – and specifically, I love helping people by answering their questions. Knowledge transfer is one of the values I hold dear, and whether it’s through tutoring or my role as a CPABC Ambassador, that’s one of my favourite parts of the job.

I’m planning to work towards my CPA designation after graduating, and I’ve picked up a lot of info both about the CPA pathway and academic life in general, through learning and personal experience, which is where I draw from. I’ve also found that there are too many accounting students on my campus who don’t yet know of the benefits of the CPA pathway; I believe that if they are shown that CPAs work everywhere, not just in public accounting, more of them might choose career path they didn’t know existed, and I’m all about sharing opportunities!

What have you gained from your Campus Ambassador experience?

I would say that it has helped to expand my professional network; for example, I also get to meet other Ambassadors and CPABC staff. It has also provided me with a greater sense of purpose while in my studies, the knowledge that I’m working for something beyond just myself and my own development. Finally, I would say that it has helped me to find my voice; you have to be pretty outgoing as an Ambassador and an accounting club member! I’ve been able to practice conversing – and, more importantly, listening – and also to develop the tone I use in emails: fun, energetic, and enthusiastic, while still professional.

Outside of your work and being a CPABC Ambassador, what are you passionate about?

I’m very passionate about public transit and its implementation, particularly here in the Lower Mainland. I believe in transit as a social mobility enabler and equalizer, as said by Enrique Peñalosa, the former mayor of Bogotá, Colombia: “A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars. It’s where the rich use public transport.” In addition to the transit we do have, I’m also following Mountain Valley Express (MVX), a proposed regional rail network project spanning from Whistler to Chilliwack.

Oh, you meant hobbies? Well, I like to crochet, play DnD with friends, and also play PC games. My current favourites are Baldur’s Gate 3 and Transport Fever 2.

Q&A with Eakamjot Mutti

Eakamjot

  • High School Ambassador of the Year 2025 - Eakamjot Mutti

Why did you want to become a High School Ambassador?

I aspired to be a High School Ambassador because volunteering is what’s been a value of mine. Selfless service, or seva, is one of Sikhism’s core beliefs, and it’s a belief that influenced my life. I’ve volunteered since age ten, and since then, volunteering for immigration services as well as after-school recreation programs for youth, kids, as well as for seniors.

It was more than seva. Never as a child was anyone of colour ever in a leadership position. That was something that I wanted to change. That it would be possible for me to be an accessible person, a motivated person, a real person, so that occasionally it would only take a glimpse of a face they can recognize in a leadership position as thinking, “Well, you know what? Maybe I can do that too.” Representation is important, and I'm grateful to be that for others.

What have you gained from your High School Ambassador experience?

It was an enriching CPABC High School Ambassador experience both personally and professionally. Another privilege was to have frequent monthly meetings with Mr. Larry Jung as well as guest speakers. It transformed my mindset about the accounting field, no more as a vocational field alone, but a field of potential as well as diversity. We not only witnessed firsthand how wide a track a CPA can be but witnessed firsthand a passion for a field.

But more than career counsel, though, I am particularly grateful for the mentorship. Mr. Jung did his research for me: he steered college applications to wide-ranging career choices. That counsel indeed was a life-transformer, for which I will be thankful for a lifetime.

Outside of your work and being a CPABC Ambassador, what are you passionate about?

Aside from this position, I am very passionate about STEM, especially neuroscience. I am a fellow of The Knowledge Society (TKS), in which I get to learn new technology as well as a collaborator in finding solutions for real-world applications. And I am genuinely about equity as well as empowering youth. I have a free tutoring program as well as a school tutor because giving a hand so that people can reach their potential makes me very content.

On the artistic end of it, I'm a painter as well as a dancer. Dance makes me an earthy funkee, movement therapy. Painting makes me quiet and serene. And I'm a student rep for my city’s District Student Voice committee because too often students who are not represented need representation, no exceptions. Not an afterthought. I want to be a part of making a world where more teens feel they are at the table, and can speak up when they are.

Q&A with Natalie Ng

  • NatalieHigh School Ambassador of the Year 2025 - Natalie Ng

Why did you want to become a High School Ambassador?

To bring honour to the CPA designation as a brand representative, and to give back to my school community. I wanted to show why accountants are important in society and what a huge difference financial literacy can make, whether you have a job or just got your first allowance.

What have you gained from your High School Ambassador experience?

With great ideas comes even greater responsibility, and I tackled more challenging projects each year that taught me to be collaborative, communicative, and creative. As I look back, I have definitely become more confident in carrying myself and leading others. I can now talk to anyone without nerves in the way, and plan anything with ease.

Ambassadorship was also a lesson on professionalism. Even volunteering in a semi-professional setting like my high school put me in the mindset to be as charismatic, helpful, and patient as possible when communicating interpersonally, all necessary to being a well-appreciated employee in any workplace. I can now prove myself to my future employers, and excel at SFU Beedie with the building blocks that CPABC has set.

Outside of your work and being a CPABC Ambassador, what are you passionate about?

You can spot me drinking anything chocolate-flavoured at cafes, jamming to jazz music as a competitive tap dancer, and hiking trails across Metro Vancouver. As I chase my dream of a CPA designation, I hope to keep up with my love for jazz, study abroad, and take on other academic interests like philosophy and criminology.
