CPABC “Ask a CPA” Event – One profession, many career paths!
On June 10, 2020, CPABC hosted the third ‘Ask a CPA’ event revolving around the topic: One profession, many career paths! Students listened to a panel of three CPA members as they discussed the different areas and industries CPAs work in. After the panel, students were given the opportunity to ask their own questions.

Karen Ramage, CPA
Director of Finance at Jack Cewe Construction Ltd.
Karen Ramage, CPA is currently the Director of Finance at Jack Cewe Construction Ltd., a local civil construction company established in 1953. She graduated from Douglas College and completed her CPA with MNP LLP. After completing her CPA, she moved to MNP Corporate Finance where she worked on the sell side of the Vancouver transaction advisory team. Her work in transaction advisory introduced her to the current investors in Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. and helped her transition into her current industry.
Richard Wong, CPA
Tax Manager at PwC Canada
Richard is a tax manager at PwC Canada and an accounting instructor at BCIT, Douglas College, and UBC. A business advisor to the BC technology sector, Richard works closely with companies of all sizes to help grow and expand their businesses, both locally and internationally. Richard is fiercely passionate about helping students develop basic accounting and tax knowledge and mentoring young professionals as they work towards their CPA. Richard holds a CPA and a Bachelor of Commerce from the UBC Sauder School of Business.
Vandita Tripathi
CPA Candidate
Vandita is an aspiring CPA currently in the final stages of earning the CPA designation. She has over six years of accounting experience which consists primarily of working in industry. The key reason behind her choice of pursuing accounting is that it is a career that provides one of the highest levels of stability, flexibility, and opportunities to develop good business sense. The aspect of problem-solving and creating realistic solutions is the most enjoyable part of her career path. Apart from accounting, she loves to dance, practice yoga, and explore new places around the world!
