The Squamish Nation Youth Powwow took place over three days on the Capilano Reservation on North Vancouver, bringing together community members, dancers, drummers, and visitors to celebrate Indigenous culture and youth leadership.
Organized with strong involvement from Squamish Nation youth, the event featured competitive dancing in categories like Fancy Shawl, Jingle Dress, Grass, and Traditional.
A special moment during the weekend was the recognition of the 2025 Squamish Nation high school graduates. The community came together to honour their achievements and support their future endeavors.
CPABC staff were also present with a booth, sharing educational and employment resources, as well as information about community programming. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with attendees and support youth in exploring future career paths.
Vendors offered Indigenous-made goods, from beadwork and clothing to traditional foods. Community organizations also set up booths to share resources and services for youth and families.
