Recap: VYPER Youth Powwow

Date: July 13-14, 2024
Location: Mission, BC

CPABC participated as a vendor at the VYPER Youth Powwow 2024. This event brought together drummers, dancers, and spectators to celebrate Indigenous culture and heritage in Mission. As a youth-focused focused powwow, VYPER organizers mentored numerous youth volunteers, teaching them the ins and outs of running and organizing a successful powwow.  The event highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating Indigenous youth through music, dance, and community gathering.

At the CPABC exhibitor booth, staff engaged with community members and organizations, sharing information on accounting careers and educational resources.

The powwow featured captivating performances from dancers and drummers representing many nations. Competitors showcased their skills in dance categories like Fancy Dance, Jingle Dress, and Grass Dance, each with its own history and style.
