Anti-Money Laundering 2021
ESG Reporting 2021

Each session will include important updates from CPABC’s leadership on: volunteer opportunities for members, how the profession is engaging in ESG, CPABC’s Indigenous Initiative and equality, diversity, and inclusion initiative, CPA Competency Map updates, a standards update, and the ongoing need for cyber security.

Updates will be followed by one of the presentations below – register for the one that most interests you.

Topic 1: Anti-money laundering: A brief update on the new FINTRAC anti-money laundering compliance requirements for CPAs and some emerging anti-money laundering areas of interest and red flags for CPAs.

Presented by Jessica McKeachie, senior advisor, public interest, CPABC.

Topic 2: Importance of ESG reporting: We are seeing a sharper focus on environmental, social, governance (ESG) issues post-COVID with implications for public policy, how companies are run, and capital allocation decisions.  In this session, Rosemary will explore developments driving demand for enhanced ESG reporting, the challenges with sustainability reporting today, and efforts to establish global sustainability reporting standards led by the IFRS Foundation.  She will also talk about why the traditional skillset of the CPA is well-suited to meet the growing sustainability needs of organizations and the resources available to CPAs in this area.

Presented by Rosemary McGuire, director, external reporting, research, guidance and support, CPA Canada.
