Lori Mathison is president and CEO of CPABC, leading the organization’s Executive Management Committee and representing the province on the national Council of Chief Executives for the Canadian CPA profession. Previously, Lori was the managing partner of the Vancouver office of Dentons Canada LLP, where she was a partner in Denton’s Tax Law group and practiced both tax and corporate law for almost 20 years.

Lori is a Governor and a Past Chair of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. She sits on the Strategic Advisory Board of the Counter Illicit Finance Alliance, the Board of the CPA Western School of Business, the Faculty Advisory Board of the UBC Sauder School of Business, and the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the UBC Centre for Business Law.

 

Sheila Nelson was elected as CPABC Board Chair in June 2022. Now semi-retired, she has worked in public practice and industry, in Vancouver, regionally, and across the country, for large firms, and smaller companies. She currently has her own consulting business providing tax planning and accounting services.

Sheila holds a Level 5 Master Official from Swimming Canada which enables her to officiate at national swim meets. She also is one of only three referees across Canada to be appointed to the Union American de Natacion which enables her to be selected to officiate at international meets anywhere in the Americas.

In addition to her CPA, CA designation, Sheila holds a bachelor of science degree in microbiology from the University of British Columbia and also her MBA.
