2026 - #8. Safiya Ibrahim Elshazly

The membership of Ms. Safiya Ibrahim Elshazly of Burnaby, British Columbia, in the Organization of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) has been permanently cancelled as a result of a Hearing before a Panel of the Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee found Ms. Elshazly violated the CPABC Code of Professional Conduct on multiple occasions. Ms. Elshazly made fraudulent misrepresentations to employers, recruiters, clients and CPABC, that she had work experience and qualifications which she did not, and that she held the CPA designation when she did not. Over a period of time, she repeatedly associated herself with resumes, biographies, oral, written, and electronic communications, and misrepresentations of her credentials and work experience which she deliberately contrived and knew were false. She took many intentional steps to avoid detection and cover up the truth. She impersonated others, and knowingly took advantage of other people, including personal friends who she co-opted to cheat with her, involving them in her lies and deceptions. All of which manifests to reckless and flagrant dishonesty and constitutes conduct unbecoming of a member of CPABC.

As a former member, Ms. Elshazly cannot use or display the designations “Chartered Professional Accountant”, or “Professional Accountant”, the initials “CPA”, or “PA, or imply, suggest, or hold out that she is a Chartered Professional Accountant, or a Professional Accountant.
