A Member claimed a membership dues exemption under the financial hardship category that they were not eligible to claim. During the course of a CPABC membership dues verification review, the Member did not co-operate, as they did not provide the required documentation or respond to CPABC correspondence in a timely manner.
The Investigation Committee determined that the Member contravened the following Rules of the CPABC Code of Professional Conduct:
103 - False or misleading applications
104.1 & 104.2 - Requirement to co-operate
201.1 - Maintenance of the good reputation of the profession
The Investigation Committee recommended that the Member:
- accept the reprimand; and
- pay investigation expenses of $1,602.
