On March 23, the Vancouver Chapter Outreach Committee and volunteers spent their afternoon giving back to the community at A Loving Spoonful meal prep location. A Loving Spoonful is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization which aims to help those who are in need by providing nourishing meals and healthy grocery options through the support from volunteers. On average, it provides approximately 200,000 meals each year to individuals and families in Metro Vancouver and the surrounding areas. The first shift of CPA volunteers were responsible for putting pre-cooked chicken, rice and Dijon cream sauce into individual meal containers sealing and labeling each meal package as well as wrapping and labeling breakfast buns, pancakes and waffle sticks.

The second shift of volunteers were responsible for sorting and packaging colourful candies into small packages. Those candies packages will be sold through charity drives, all proceeds go to support the meal program. After four hours and two shifts, our volunteers had packed over 1,000 meals and countless packages of candies. We have surpassed the expectations of the organizer. It was so much fun of working and connecting with fellow CPA members and candidates, while contributing to the local community. Thank you for all the volunteers. We hope to see you in our next Outreach event.
