You can become a Canadian CPA, CMA by:
- Completing the CIMA CMA-MRA application form and submit to Stephanie Langley (Associate Registrar) at firstname.lastname@example.org, or fax to 604-681-1523, or mail to CPABC’s office at the following address:

- Being a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or lawfully permitted to work in Canada
- Having been engaged in the practice of accounting in the jurisdiction in which that professional body is located for a two-year period immediately before membership was granted in that professional body
In the province of British Columbia, CPABC, through the Public Practice Committee, administers the requirements to receive a practice license. Only those applicants intending to set up a public practice firm in the province are required to obtain a practice license.
If you would like to pursue the right to practice public accounting, you will need to write the Chartered Professional Accountant Reciprocity Examination, and meet any other requirements set by CPABC.
