Lori Mathison is president and CEO of CPABC, leading the organization’s Executive Management Committee and representing the province on the national Council of Chief Executives for the Canadian CPA profession. Previously, she was the managing partner of the Vancouver office of Dentons Canada LLP, where she was a partner in Dentons' Tax Law group. Her background includes providing specialized tax advice on domestic and cross-border transactions, advising on dealings with the government, and providing strategic corporate counsel to clients. Lori is involved with the community and currently serves as the immediate past chair of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade.
Geoff Dodds was elected as chair of the CPABC Board of Directors in 2020. He has served in leadership roles with the accounting profession since 2013 and contributed to the unification of the accounting profession in BC. Geoff has served as a board governor with the CPABC Education Foundation, and with the CPABC Board as vice chair, treasurer, and as a member of its audit and governance committees. Geoff is the managing and personnel partner at Buckley Dodds, where his practice consists of audit, assurance, accounting, tax, and business advisory services. He has extensive experience in public companies and regulatory issues, not-for-profit organizations, and governance.
Laura Friedrich is a principal of friedrich & friedrich corp, a professional research, standards, and education consultancy firm and has over 20 years’ experience conducting projects worldwide. The firm focuses on building institutional capacity and developing strategic, policy, program, governance, and ethics guidance for established and emerging professional and regulatory organizations. She serves on the CPABC Bylaws Committee, as well as in the role of technical advisor to the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants, and is a frequent presenter with CPABC’s Professional Development Program.
Anthony Green is CPABC’s security engineer. Previously, he worked in cybersecurity with one of Canada’s largest retailers. Now Anthony manages the security roadmap at CPABC while also curating and presenting security awareness topics to both members and staff. He is also currently on the Board of Directors at ISACA Vancouver chapter where he manages the communications team. Anthony also performs cybersecurity consulting and awareness training for small- and medium-sized businesses during his free time.
