The Vancouver Island/Coast Development Region encompasses 84,321km2 of land on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and the central portion of BC’s mainland coast from Powell River to just north of Ocean Falls and Bella Coola. The region is the second-most populous development region in BC after the Mainland/Southwest. Almost half of the region’s population live in Victoria’s Capital Regional District.
