The CPABC Burnaby/New Westminster Chapter held their first online holiday social event on December 9, 2021 to celebrate the holiday season and connect with fellow members, candidates and students.

The event featured a virtual food drive in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB). Attendees enjoyed an eye-opening virtual tour of the GVFB facilities by Terra Paredes, Manager of Community Events and Engagement, and learned about the various food and support programs and that the GVFB provides to the community.

After the GVFB presentation, attendees enjoyed an interactive virtual cocktail making class by mixologist, Brian Chapman from the Nimble Bar Co., where they learned the history of three popular classic cocktails and how to make them. Prior to the event, attendees received a shopping list of ingredients and tools to make the classic Tom Collins, Whiskey Sour and Old Fashioned cocktails. With their ingredients on hand, attendees were impressively mixing, shaking and stirring cocktails.

With their new creations in hand, attendees joined breakout rooms to enjoy their cocktails while they connected with fellow colleagues.

NOTE: The virtual food drive in support of the GVFB will run until December 31, 2021. All donations to the Chapter's VFD before December 25th, will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Ledcor Group up to $100,000!
