Lloyd Juliane, CPA

Lloyd brings over 20 years of accounting expertise gained from extensive experience in both public and private practice. He has worked across diverse industries such as retail, oil & gas, and hospitality, where he held managerial positions. In the Philippines, Lloyd became a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) before immigrating to Canada in 2010. To align himself with the highly skilled professionals in the industry, he successfully completed the rigorous requirements of the CPA (Chartered Professional Accountants) Canada program, proudly becoming a member of this esteemed organization.
Currently, Lloyd serves as a Senior Accountant at the Insurance Council of BC, a trusted organization responsible for overseeing and regulating the licensing of insurance professionals on behalf of the provincial government of British Columbia. In this pivotal role, Lloyd ensures governance compliance and upholds the integrity of the insurance industry in BC.

Betty Mak, CPA, CA and CPA (New Hampshire)

Betty is a graduate of UBC’s Bachelor of Commerce Program with a major in Accounting. Upon graduation, she joined KPMG’s Vancouver office, spending her first three years in the Audit group and the following ten years in the US corporate tax group. In September 2017, she leapt into an industry role with MDA (now Maxar Technologies). She’s currently a Director of Tax with Maxar Technologies, overseeing income tax compliance, supporting tax accounting and responsible for other tax projects including cash tax projections and tax support for M&A activities. She fast-tracked the CASB program and obtained her CA designation in May 2007. She obtained her US CPA in 2013 through the reciprocity program with the state of New Hampshire. She also completed a Master of Science in Taxation program through Golden Gate University’s cyber campus. Outside of the office, she’s currently the President for the Vancouver Chapter of Tax Executives Institute (TEI), a non-profit organization devoted to tax professionals in industry. She is raising a young family with her husband.

Carrie Or, MBA, CPA, CGA
Senior Finance Manager

Carrie Or started her career as a CPA in Vancouver working at small to medium sized tech companies for seven years, using analysis and business skills to help companies grow. On the side she was also treasurer for Craftworks, a non-profit that teaches adults with disabilities how to sew. Her passion for continuous learning led to her pursuing an MBA degree at Cornell University. Carrie is currently a Senior Finance Manager with Microsoft, supporting one of its fastest growing businesses, Microsoft Cloud. On a daily basis, she works with business partners and controllers across the world to analyze and then help the business execute for further growth.
