CPABC Network Series ‘CPA Careers that Count – PPR’

You may already know that the CPA Professional Education Program consists of the 3 E’s: education, exam, and experience. But did you know that CPABC will assess your accounting related work experience under one of two routes: Pre-approved Program Route (PPR) or Experience Verification Route (EVR)?

Join us on September 17th for a live webinar and networking event with a panel of CPA Candidates who are currently pursuing their work experience under PPR. Learn how you can satisfy your work experience towards the CPA program under PPR, find out who are the employers of PPR positions, and discover the perks to working in a PPR position. This event will open with a panel discussion, followed by small group live networking and Q & A with Candidate panelists and CPABC staff.

Deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Space is limited.

Panelists:

Brandon-YauBrandon Yau, Senior Accountant, KPMG
Brandon has wanted to be a CPA since he was in high-school, where he even started his own business club. He later went on to obtain his Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University and currently works in KPMG's assurance practice as a Senior Accountant.

Brandon thoroughly enjoys the ease of the Pre-approved Program Route (PPR) and how rigid the program is to reach the required CPA competencies. Brandon believes that this has made the experience verification process much easier.

Henry-FlowersHenry Flowers, Experienced Associate (Core Assurance and Risk Assurance), PwC
Henry is an Experienced Associate at PwC, based out of the Vancouver office. He is in the Assurance Pathways rotational program, giving him exposure to both financial audit and risk advisory engagements. He has worked across a multitude of industries inclusive of mining, the public sector and media & entertainment.

Henry believes that the PPR is a great option for pursuing the CPA designation. A vast amount of support and resources are provided, and you receive the added benefit of being able to easily connect and work alongside members of your cohort as you go through the modules.

Patti-CookePatti Cooke, Accountant, Teck Coal Ltd.
Patti has been working in the finance industry for nearly a decade. She set her sights on an accounting designation in high school but wanted to diversify her experience before settling into a role as an accountant.
Patti believes that choosing the PPR route makes life as a CPA candidate simpler. Students can focus on their studies and know that their role will satisfy their experience requirements without any need for additional reporting.
