CPA Canada is the national organization established to support unification of the Canadian accounting profession under the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Canada’s CPAs serve the public interest by developing, monitoring, and enforcing the highest standards of competence and ethical conduct. They are valued by organizations of all types for their financial expertise, strategic thinking, business insight, management skills and leadership.
Uniting Canada’s accounting profession under the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) banner enhances the profession’s influence and relevance, and allows it to contribute with a strong single voice both at home and internationally.
CPA Canada provides services to all CPA, CA, CMA, and CGA accounting bodies that have unified or are committed to unification. All three legacy bodies in all Canadian provinces and territories as well as CPA Bermuda have agreed to unification. Several jurisdictions have passed legislation establishing provincial CPA bodies, while many others have begun the process.
The status of unification across the country differs from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. See the most up-to-date information.
